The All Blacks got revenge for their humiliation by the Springboks last year in the Tri-Nations series with a 32-12 victory over last year's champions.

All Blacks forwards coach Steve Hansen says that last year's series of defeats motivated the All Blacks who outscored the Springboks four tries to nil.

"The key thing behind this performance was three-zip last year," forwards coach Steve Hansen said after the win.

"A lot of people have been waiting a long time to play this Test match and we came out on top of it. "

"Now we've got to do it again next week, that's the exciting thing."

All Blacks head coach Graham Henry paid special praise to the forward pack and the overall defensive effort which kept the Springboks from scoring any tries.

"The edge was created by the results last year so I think the boys should be very proud of what they achieved," he said.

"The defence was superb. The forwards dominated the Springbok eight and that's what set the standard."

Springbok captain John Smit said that he waqs surprised at how poor his team was and made no excuses for being outplayed throughout the match.

"The All Blacks were really good tonight. They played with pace all over the field and in every facet of play they were better than us," Smit said.

"There was nothing going on from our side. The lights were out."

"They wanted it more, were more urgent and deserve what they got."
