Springbok coach Peter De Villiers has made nine changes to the squad that lost to the All Blacks in Wellington last week for their match against Australia at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The starting line up shows four changes and there are a further five changes on the reserves bench.

Gio Aplon who was on the bench in Wellington starts in place of the suspended Jean de Villiers on the right wing.

Ruan Pienaar comes in at scrumhalf for Ricky Januarie who has dropped out of the squad completely.

In the front row BJ Botha starts ahead of CJ van der Linde at tighthead prop and then Ryan Kankowski is preferred to Francois Louw at flank.

Flip van der Merwe who joined the squad from the Bulls last week comes in for the injured Andries Bekker.

Francois Hougaard will provide cover for Pienaar while centre Juan de Jongh replacing the promoted wing Aplon.

"Statistics show that Suncorp has the fastest playing surface in the Super 14 and we have to be prepared for a faster game," said Springboks coach Peter de Villiers.

"We have two tough games behind us, but if we stick to our structures and use our opportunities I believe this team is capable of getting a result."

De Villiers added he expected a physical onslaught from the Wallabies at the weekend.
